Warehouse Operations Manager (Pendergrass, Georgia)
Salary Range: $85,000 – $95,000
Job Summary:
Responsible for all areas of warehouse operations including implementation of processes, personnel management, inventory management, security, safety, housekeeping, and administrative processes that pertain to all warehouse activities, and all other functions designed to meet performance and company standards. This management positions works closely with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Aftermarket Services teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage warehouse personnel and coordinate daily work assignments.
Identify and coordinate training activities.
Recommend overtime as needed to meet customer demands.
∙Manage and perform activities of employees engaged in loading/unloading of trucks and containers,
selecting, packing, shipping, receiving, and transporting merchandise through LTL shipments.
∙Manage incoming and outgoing shipment activity; ensure efficient, accurate, and timely customer service to ensure warehouse KPIs are obtained.
∙Manage to pick, kitting, and material management to support production line activities.
∙Perform process audits and initiate improvements and support facility-wide projects.
∙Perform all physical requirements necessary to lift and move inventory around the warehouse.
∙Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment and any material(s) contained in a manner consistent with the intended purpose of the equipment and the manufacturer’s instructions.
∙Maintain security of merchandise and equipment and ensure safe working conditions.
∙Ensure that all warehouse procedures are followed and coordinate warehouse huddles and/or regular
meetings with the warehouse employees on a weekly/bi-weekly basis.
∙As a corporate leader, provide direction and leadership to all warehouse managers throughout the company on warehousing techniques, technologies, processes, procedures, policies, etc.
Qualifications:
Experience & Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, technical areas, or something similar
∙Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing a fast-paced warehouse and/or distribution center
∙Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing employees
∙Proficient people skills in mentoring, coaching/counseling, performance management, and employee
relations
∙Strong inventory control background
∙Required to attend all safety meetings
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong leadership, team building, multitasking, and organizational skills
∙People management skills, including the ability to inspire, lead and motivate a team of people, delegate work and explain ideas
∙Ability to manage processes and achieve results through others
∙Ability to make routine decisions daily
∙Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move material
throughout the warehouse, including, but not limited to, frequent standing, walking, bending, twisting,
stooping, reaching, climbing ladders, cutting wire, and lifting materials weighing up to 70 lbs.
∙Ability to operate and maneuver warehouse equipment, including, but not limited to, pallet jacks, forklifts, and pushcarts, in the manner necessary to move materials within the warehouse
∙Ability to work in a warehouse environment, including the ability to adapt to seasonal changes, significant temperature variations, and inclement weather conditions
∙Knowledge of SAP is a plus but not required
∙Computer skills including proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite and email systems
∙Customer service focused
∙Excellent verbal and written communication skills
∙Ability to perform all physical requirements
